Return To What Is True

an evening at old fox hollow

What to Expect

there are seasons of family life that pass more quickly than we realize.

an evening at old fox hollow is an invitation to slow down long enough to notice them- to enjoy your people, wander a little, and preserve this particular season of your family just as it is.

the photographs are part of what you take home.

but the evening itself is part of the gift.

A young child with blue eyes and light brown hair lying down with an arm over their face, wearing a blue shirt.
A man with gray hair and beard lying on his side on a blanket, smiling, with a young girl with long blonde hair, blue eyes, and a white dress lying on her back next to him, both outdoors on green grass.
A middle-aged man with a beard and short, dark and gray hair and a young woman with long blonde hair are smiling and touching foreheads outside near a window and a house wall.
So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. - Psalm 90:12

The Evening

more than a portrait session

The best photographs begin long before a camera is ever lifted.

They begin by slowing dow. By paying attention. By being fully present with the people we love.

An Evening at Old Fox Hollow is designed with that in mind. Rather than rushing through a list of poses and moving on, we give your family room to settle in, wander, play, talk, laugh, and simply be together.

We’ll guide you when needed, but there is no expectation that everyone needs to perform for the camera. Some of the photographs will be beautiful composed portraits. O there may be the little moments you didn’t know were happening - the way a child reaches for a parent’s hand, the laughter between siblings, or the chemistry between a husband and a wife.

The goal isn’t simply to photograph your family. It’s to give you an evening worth remembering.

Before You Arrive

Preparing for your evening

A meaningful evening doesn’t begin when you arrive at Old Fox Hollow. It begins a little before.

Once your evening is reserved, we’ll send you everything you need to prepare, including a guidance for what to wear, what to bring, and what you can expect when you arrive.

We’ll also take time to learn a little more about your family. What season are you in? What matters most to you right now? Are there particular relationshiops, traditions, or little pieces of your family life you’d love for us to notice?

You don’t need to know how to pose or plan the perfect evening. That’s our work.

Your only job is to come as you are and be together.

We’ll take care of the rest.

When You Arrive

Your Evening at Old Fox Hollow

When you arrive at Old Fox Hollow, there is nowhere you need to rush off to.

We’ll begin by settling in and letting the evening unfold naturally. We’ll guide your family throughout the time we’re together, but there won’t be a long list of poses or a feeling that you need to perform for the camera.

We’ll wander, talk, play, explore, and make portraits along the way.

Some moments will be gently directed. Others will happen on their own.

We’ll be watching for both - the photographs you came hoping for and the ones you never knew to ask for.

There will be time for little things, too: a child running ahead, siblings finding their own rhythm, a father scooping up a tired little one, a mother watching her family from the edge of it all.

You don’t have to make the evening meaningful. You simply have to be present for it.

We’ll take care of the photographs.

Afterwards

When the Evening is over

The evening will end, but the story doesn’t.

After your time at Old Fox Hollow, we’ll carefully edit your photographs and prepare them for you to enjoy. You’ll receive a private online gallery where you can revisit the evening, share your photographs with the people you love, and download your images to keep.

Your collection includes the rights to print and enjoy your photographs as you wish.

And while the photographs will hold the moments we captured, we hope they do something more than that.

We hope years from now, when you look back at them, you remember how it felt to be loved.

That is what we’re hoping to preserve.
